Search boxes, plain text fields and longer notes are our best-tested starting point. Type a shortcut to bring in your saved text.

Fields that only accept one line will leave out line breaks. Password fields are left alone.

02 / KEEP A LITTLE STYLE

Words with a little more to them.

In supported rich-text areas, your snippets can keep bold, italic, links and lists. Plain-text boxes receive the words without the styling.

Some writing apps handle text differently. Formatting and undo may vary, so try a short snippet first.

03 / KEEP YOUR WORDS HANDY

A handy plan B.

If a shortcut doesn’t expand, open KeyEspresso, copy your snippet and paste it where you need it.

For Google Docs, use copy and paste for now. Automatic expansion in documents isn’t supported yet.

Let’s be specific.

We’re still testing individual apps during the beta. We haven’t yet verified Gmail, Outlook, Notion, Zendesk or Salesforce, so we can’t promise automatic expansion there.

Chrome also blocks extensions on its own settings pages and the Chrome Web Store. You can still copy your saved text from KeyEspresso.
